I was expecting much out of this, and so this didn't disappoint me. It also didn't really impress me. I'll listen to this maybe two more times, and then relegate to my CD shelf. Buy it if you're a fan; if not, stay away.

This is an interesting, eclectic collection of songs and styles.. one part Tom Jones, one part Kris Kristofferson, one part Johnny Cash and some classic R&B Daltrey… Not The Who.. but great to hear The Voice! It’s great because it’s Roger Daltrey singing.. Of course, I could listen to Roger sing the phone book. B-)

Great album from start to finish. "Going Back Home" with Wilko Johnson in 2014 brought us a great blues album and "As Long As I Have You" brings a killer rocking soul album. Daltrey's voice is powerful on each song as he hits Johnny Cash lows on "Into My Arms" and hits the higher notes on his own "Always Heading Home". Glad Pete talked him into finsihing this one.

I have been a Who fan for over 40 years and seen them 16 times in concert. Roger brings back The Who hard rock sound with You Haven't Done Nothing. Awesome to see him crank out the tunes again. He's still got it at 74. Amazing !!!! LONG LIVE ROCK

Sad. It was depressing to listen to this. His voice seems strained and slightly off pitch. And the music is uninspiring. It seems dated and uninspiring. He was great back in the day. But without the harmonies of the songs from Tommy or Magic Bus or the fury and insouciance of My Generation, this falls flat. It is hard for these once great musicians who still want to record in the style of their youth but can't try something new and more up to date. Some of the musicians of the 60s and 70s can still pull it off. Robert Plant or Tom Jones always seem to be able to team up with current musicians and still pull off something interesting, like Plant's rockabilly country collaboration with Allison Kraus a few years back.
  • Top-Notch Vocally and Musically.

Roger Daltery has hit one out of the park with this album. You would never know he had health and voice issues during the most recent THE WHO tour, prior to the release of this album. The styles are varied on this album which shows off his vocal range - from ballads to rockers and even singing with a gospel choir. His vocals are top-notch and Pete Townshend lending his guitar skills to 7 tracks on the album make it top-notch musically. Roger wrote 3 of the songs with other tracks written by famous songwriters and Roger lends his unique vocal style to each track. This is the best of Roger's solo albums to date.

What happened to long live rock ? Each one of these songs is more depressing than the next.

Roger Daltrey and Greta Van Fleet might just save Rock and Roll.

Seriously? All but one song is album-only? Good luck with that.
