I learned of Lucius (or at least half of the band) through Roger Waters’ album, Is This The Life We Really Want, where they are heavily featured.
They are incredibly talented vocalists and I have very much enjoyed listening to this album. I particularly enjoy the tracks Neighbors and Million Dollar Secret....though there rendition of Right Down The Line is pretty excellent.
Over-all, there is little to fault with this album. The music, while simple, is paired beautifully to Holly Lessing and Jess Wolfe’s voices. The album production and sound quality is excellent.
I think the closing single with Roger Waters is incredibly sweet - it almost does not seem congruent on the album because the production is so different from the rest of the tracks of the album. I am assuming that this is intentional.
If it were me, the only thing I would like to see is more of a coherent theme for the songs on the album. These people have talent and it would be nice to see them tackle some of the larger issues we are dealing with today. It may just be that they have to convince Roger to make a second album with them. :)

My favorite Lucius concert moments are when the instruments quiet down or even cut out, and the impossiblly beautiful voices of Jess and Holly burst through the silence and travel from my ears straight down my spine, sending me into a music-drunk state of bliss. NUDES is an entire album of opium for my ears. Lucius is a drug and I'm addicted.

These two young ladies sang back-up for Roger Waters recent tour. They have tremendous voices and sound great together. The blend of the two voices is amazing! After I saw them with Waters, I went here to iTunes and bought some of their original music. Really good stuff. If this album is as good (and with the participation of Nels Cline and Roger Waters, how can it not be), do yourself a favor and give it a good listen.
