Not a fan of Christmas music myself but Tarja puts a dark, wintery spin on all the songs and I actually like songs I once despised. This definitely isn’t that Annoying Xmas music you hear in every store, it is a classic. Not all are Xmas songs anyway but all is a dark beauty just as Tarja‘s voice.. The person that made the comment about her accent is an ethnocentric hater and apparently a huge WHAM fan lol, Great taste.

The most beautiful Christmas album I've ever heard. Though the songs are more somber in tone, there is a subtle undercurent of joy that soothes the soul. In terms of the voice, I think this is Tarja's best solo album yet. It's not overly dramatic the way her solo albums have been, and her voice really shines thorugh these songs.

Tarja is, hands down, one of the most talented vocalists in ANY genre in the world. That being said, for me, her covers of songs are either hit or miss, with no in between. The covers on this album are all hits. I was a little concerned with how she’d do with them, but she did a remarkable job. The darker, gothic twist she put on the songs are both enchanting and mesmerizing. I’m especially in love with her covers of “Amazing Grace” and “Feliz Navidad”. Highly recommend this to fans of metal and/or Christmas alike!

This treatment of the classics is a miss and a mess, it no works. Voice isn’t that great, hard accent shining through. On the flip side I have heard that the new Marilyn Manson album covering the old Wham catalogue is refreshing.

I think this is hauntingly beautiful. Tarja said, "On this album, I explored the other side of Christmas. The Christmas of the lonely people and the missing ones. The Christmas for those that do not find joy in the blinking lights and the jingle bells." I think the concept is so interesting, and I feel like she displayed that perfectly.
