Cannot express how much I love his music, style, and lyrics. Love Misty’s insight. I’m glad he got a Grammy nomination. And I look forward to his future records!
So, so good

This album if chock-full of well written songs that have so much meaning put into every word, syllable, and letter. I have thoroughly enjoyed analyzing the lyrics and just soaking up all of it in
I DONT KNOW HOW MANY STARS

I love FJM. He is a goddamned genius. Fear fun and Honeybear have pulled me through and out of some deep, introspective shame spirals. But I fear that in this latest album his genius has gotten the better of him.
There ARE some songs on this album. Some tracks where they remember that they are a band, and they play music, and they have some kind of progression and drive and momentum. And then there are at least as many tracks that seem like interludes, Josh's stream-of-consciousness poetry about his (acutely and painfully accurate) perception of the world as it exists today. In the previous albums, his sometimes painful observations settled into the folksy jams of some very talented and cohesive musicians. When all you have is rhythmless strings, there is nothing to cushion the blow if the deep despair he obviously finds in this existence.
I have listened to the album a dozen or so times, and I keep coming back to it after every respite, trying to figure out if I like it or not. So, you should listen to it. Maybe it will strike you.
I don't know, three stars.

At first, I didn't like this album a whole lot due to what others have said ... but I started listening to it and I realized how important and meaningful the lyrics are... it's different then what we are used to by Misty but it is a prodigy! I love this album the MOST based on what he's put out.
