Not as refreshing as I thought it would be

This album definitely has it's moments, but there wasn't one song in it that I'll play over and over again. Very disappointed in what I heard on this cd after reading all the other high praise reviews.
Just buy it!

Look, if you have any appreciation for this art form this is a must have. Rob Swift is true genius and is a master at his craft. I'm not a DJ, but still can appreciate the talent involved in grabbing a beat mid-air only to flip it around change its direction and manipulate it such a way that just makes you say - DAMN! - with just a flick of the wrist. If you don't know about the art of turntablism, this is a great start.
Good for beat-heads

Who sampled this? is a good entry into the sample compilation mixtape genre. Essentially a collection of famous breaks sampled by the top producers in the industry. Most of the time, the producers like to maintain a level of mystique regarding the sources of their samples, but for people that listen to music of all genres soundbites begin to ring more familiar, Djs like Rob Swift have massive record collections and usually know all the secret records producers like Dre, the Rza, Premier, Pete Rock, Dj Shadow keep to themselves. Although Djs like philly based Soulman have released several volumes of sample mixtape (Neva Stop Diggin), these mixtapes are usually not widely distributed or easy to come across. I would recommend this record to anyone who enjoys the work of artists such as David Axelrod, Air, the Rza, Lalo Shaffrin, James Brown, RJd2, Dj Shadow, Dan the Automator and others who take production as a key element in good music.

Some might call it "odd" - Me, I think it's refreshing. We need more of this. More DJs, MCs & Producers stretching to new possibilities and finding new places to go with this art. I give it up to long time dj's like Rob Swift who could easily be swayed by the Hollywood Game and instead tries to elevate his music at the risk of being called "odd"
Please support this....
Very coolpipes.

yeah, this is very cool music. Although at sometimes weird, I think it is on the borderline of Hop Hip but very unique non the less. I enjoy "interview with colored man." funny. i would recommend this to buy, with money.

Rob Swift has been making mixtapes and cd mixes on the down low for years, they're always excellent and extremely well mixed. Rob Swift's mixes are smooth and never feel shakey. He is arguably one of the best Turntablists in the world and the best (and most consistent) member of the X-Ecutioners. This album is not his best but definately a good one. People should not feel like this album is weird or 'new' like the other 2 reviews before this one suggests. Like I said before, these types of mixes are absolutley nothing new, people have been putting them out for years (decades even, man I'm old). So cop it or at least check out what else he's done, everything is pretty solid.
