I've been an Orgy fan since 1998. I purposely avoided all side projects from the band because I was bitter for so long about not getting new Orgy music. I stumbled upon this 2 Part album by Julien-K. The band was formed by two ex-Orgy members, Ryan and Amir. I started listening to these two albums a few days ago and I was immediately hooked. I have listened to both probably about 7 times each. I can't stop. I love the 80's sound and I'm getting some Bowie vibes from the vocals, both are good things to me. I'm so glad I ended my bitterness and decided to check out Julien-K because both California Noir albums are amazing from start to finish. I didn't skip one song. Thanks Ryan and Amir! I can tell a lot of hard work went into making these songs because there's no "filler" songs on either album. Now, if you excuse me, I have to go listen to these on repeat some more. 😍

Sunset Life is up there with their best. The chorus is so strong. Dossier is such a great tribute to Depeche Mode and the chorus on Temple is fiery powerful. Well done!

Nightlife in Neon is a solid album and so easy to listen to. Has hints of the best of DTA and WHWY along with ABDC. If you are a Julien-K fan, this album is a dream come true. Heavier on synth than ABDC but in the best possible way. Every track is strong, but personal favorites include Temple, Solar, and Dossier.
JK delivers a 1-2 punch!

If you don't own Ch1 and Ch2, you are missing out! Both are on iTunes now. It's hard to find good music these days and if you like 80s or 90s alternative stuff, these two are a true throwback to that time. Depeche Mode, OMD, BAD, Cure...etc. you'll hear a lot of influence mixed with a modern originality and lots of hooks and groove. Just a collection of very well written songs. Check them out and buy both Chapters on iTunes...give it a chance, you'll dig it.

Essentially a trio of musicians do it again, and far exceeds expectations! Taking note to pay respect to their beginnings while providing something new, this band was able to knock it out of the park with this album! Been a fan of these guys for a long time now and they clearly put their heart into what they do, being sure to pay attention to their core fans! They understand what's really important and do things their way, but more importantly, they do it all themselves! Music seems to be lost these days with some bands, but these guys hold onto what and how music can really be!
A revival and fresh breath of beloved 80's New Wave

If you have a passion for 80's New Wave: Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, The Revolution, The Pet Shop Boys, The Romantics....then this band and specifically this album will definitely be to your liking! Don't believe me, then preview tracks Dossier and Corrections and call my bluff. If this album turns you on then be sure to back track to Chapter One: California Noir because there's just as many hits that will take you back to the dope era of 80s synth pop.
