Incredible music! I play it in my mornings to set me up spiritually and mentally, as well as every time I read philosophy, metaphysics or something spiritual, it´s simply beautiful and ethereal. Enjoy it and dive deeply into the amazing world of Abzu.

After his beautiful and Grammy-nominated work on 'Journey', Austin Wintory has done it again, creating exquisite music for the video game Abzu. The music is both interesting and accessible - treading this fine balance to perfection. Austin paints and weaves in delicate colours, creating a supremely moving experience. The strings play a substantial part in this record and they sound tremendous on tracks like ‘SERIOLA LALANDI’, ‘DELPHINUS DELPHIS’, and delicate on ‘ARCHITEUTHIS’! The winds on ‘MYLIOBATIS AQUILA’ are wonderful and they combine again with strings on ‘ARANDASPIS PRIONOTOLEPIS’. The light percussion and superb vocals on ‘THEIR WATERS WERE MINGLED TOGETHER is a treat in their own right and what a moment that must’ve been when this happened - ‘THEN WERE CREATED THE GODS IN THE MIDST OF HEAVEN’!

  • If the ocean had a soundtrack

This soundtrack perfectly suits this game and the wonder of the ocean. It's unsettling how certain instruments can make you feel emotions and paint a picture of an environment, which, in this case, would be the wonderful yet terrifying ocean. If you haven't played this game yet I'd strongly suggest you give three hours of your free time to play it through, it makes he soundtrack that much more immersive and impactful. Wonderfully composed.

This is a must, it's so beautiful and so soothing to the soul! Your ears and brain will be happy that you fed them something so magical and mystical. Depending on the kind of person you are it could also be a tear jerker which it totally was for me. The game was LIFE so it was great to put each song with each part of the game and re live the entire game in your mind 😌👌🏼. I could go on and on but I won't! Just get it already! 🐟🐠🐬🐳🐡🌊🌌💙

Austin Wintory, if you ever see this know that you just have a great ear for really giving people the sense of wonder about where they are and exprience the beautiy and majesty of the enviroment they've been placed in and are exlporing in. While also bring this haunting edge about what also lurks in the unknown. This soundtrack like with Journey is just stunning. As an artist it makes me want to draw all kinds of things about what I'm feeling during these pieces. Your sir are amazing. Keep making these! Do not stop these lovely pieces.

When I saw that Giant Squid was developing a sort of spiritual sequel to Journey, I was excited. But it was discovering that Austin Wintory would be returning for ABZU's soundtrack that made me buy the game. So much of what made Journey a success has been translated excellently into both the gameplay and the music of Squid's latest game, both of which are powerful experiences on their own. You will not regret purchasing this album, and you will not regret purchasing ABZU.

Its own kind of memorable; this is how I feel is best to describe ABZU's soundtrack. There are a number of stand-outs, but most of what you will hear leans towards ambiance. (Which is not bad!) You won't likely have a melody in your head like Nascence and Apotheosis managed to do for many, but you also won't regret purchasing this soundtrack. Turn it on, close your eyes, and meditate.
