  • Greatest Quartet I've ever heard

These guys totally rock. I play viola myself, so I get a lot of inspiration from this Quartet. I have played about twelve or thirteen of these songs in my own orchestra and it is so much more interesting than some of the boring pieces we play by composers such as Haydn and Bach (Except Beethoven rules). Listening to the way that this quartet can arrange and play such awesome songs as Bohemian Rhapsody and Paint it Black really inspires me and I really hope that more people can appreciate classical music after listening to these guys. HAMPTON STRING QUARTET RULES!!!!!

The HSQ is very interesting using that one lead violin to imitate vocals, and it works very well. "Aqualung" works very well, I feel, because of of the heavy folk influences present in the song, and Ian Anderson was notorious for sometimes using excessive strings (i.e. the whole album Minstrel In The Gallery among others from the span of 1974-1982). All songs stay true to the original beat, but some stand out, such as "Sweet Dreams," "Trampled Underfoot," "Dazed and Confused, " and "Paint it Black."
