Cartwheels is Classic

This is a very good collection of songs, with a very fresh, intoxicating sound that just draws you in. The songs are fresh, positive, and devoid of Nashville’s tired country themes and cliché’s. To my mind, and seasoned ears, this album is a new watermark for country music. In fact, I almost cringe a little bit in classifying it as Country. It’s just that the songs are so dang fresh, honest, insightful, relevant, relatable, catchy and well crafted, yet mercifully devoid of Nashville's stereotypes. Hallelujah!
The high quality songs are equaled by a fresh, crisp, clean and delightful performance and production. The Ward Thomas sisters vocals are perfect and beautiful together. The UK should be very proud of this duo.
Thank you Ward Thomas for having the conviction and courage to bring new, pure, and honest songs and sounds to the calculated-contrived genre of Country music. In fact, I predict in the years to come we will look back and view Cartwheels as a milestone Classic album of when the genera finally grew up a bit and changed direction for the better.
BTW, don't let the youth of Ward Thomas fool you. These songs are wise, deep and adult far beyond their apparent years. I can't help but notice the song writing contributions of Rebekah Powell running through the entire album, and wonder if she deserves credit for bringing some “secret-sauce” to the project.
Cartwheels is an excellent album that deserves to climb high into the charts as it charts a new sound and direction for Country music. It’s classic albums like this that have changed the landscape and direction of music.
