Kilo Kish has the most beautiful voice, I swear. I remember when she used to post demos she did on her Tumblr and now she's got a full blown album. And it's awesome. Always evolving and trying new things and it has worked. Every. Single. Time. I can't wait to see what's next.

This album is gallery art on wax— it’s as expository as it is simply auditory. The subdued feeling of this album shouldn’t be confused with a lack of intensity. The beats hit as hard as Kish’s musings about negotiating the distance between identity, meaning, and media.
To the lyrics— Reflections in Real Time is a referendum on a particularly vulnerable time in a person’s (every person) intellectual and psychological development (i.e., the early 20s). Now imagine this development within the context of social media?!?! She’s done better than just about anyone in terms of putting these ideas to music! In doing so, she’s broken away from the familiar —and, timeworn— stereotypes about what and who “certain” women are supposed to be (even if that wasn’t her agenda).
