Come on guys. All these 5 star reviews? Save the 5 for something different, innovative and disruptive. This is nice and beautifully played. But..... It's been done and is being done presently by many players. Mike Moreno is a wonderful player but where is the spontaneity, energy, the live on the edge I might fall! Go buy The new Vic Juris/Phil Woods cd. Those guys play without a safety net.

Very fine album from one of the best young jazz guitarists out there. What impresses me even more than Mike's playing is his writing. This is an all original set, and Mike's compositions are definitely his own. Not at all derived from anywhere else. Mike's compostitional voice is his own. The tunes are beautifully fleshed out by Mike's great playing and the playing of his band here-Aaron Parks on piano, Eric Harland on drums, and Doug Weiss on bass. I particularly love to hear Mike and Aaron together. Wonderful stuff!
