    I have everything that the honeydrops have put out and this is by far the best mixed yet. Regardless of the previously released songs, the mixing and arrangements make them sound all new. As far as I am concerned they can do no wrong. Keep up with the production, it is worth it! Keep touring, keep at it, keep recording.

    Wow! A combination of Blues, R&B and Soul just the way it should be; vocals telling it like it is, background voices agreeing in choral harmony, crunchy guitars and a brass section to die for! LONG WAY and THIS TIME have some great brass parts, and they are among my top choice along with A RIVER’S INVITATION and WHEN IT WAS WRONG. Fantastic production to boot - exquisite - one of the highlights of the year for me!

    I am a huge Honey Drops fan, have seen them many many times, have enjoyed their music and energy on Blues Cruises and own all their releases. That said, I downloaded this first day of release and I have listened to “A River’s Invitation” 6-7 times so far and it seems to me, initially at least, that these are warmed over tunes and not a whole lot original. There are even songs on here previously released from other CDs. I was really excited about this CD and anticipated it highly. I am disappointed, at least so far. I will give it a couple more listenings and see if it grows on me……I hope so. I will see them next week and hopefully these new tunes will grow on me after I hear them live.
