I don’t think Cheap Trick ever made a perfect five star album, but this album comes the closest. This album contains at least three of my all time favorite Cheap Trick songs, Surrender, Auf Wiedersehen and Taking Me Back. Also quite good are Stiff Competition, How Are You, On Top Of The World and High Roller. Actually, I think the first half is perfect. My least favorite song is On The Radio, even though it contains one of my favorite lyrics in “Hey mister on the radio, please play my favorite song, the one where she doesn’t go away.” This is my favorite Cheap Trick album and Surrender is a song that I can never get sick of hearing.

Yeah- I know the frist is epic, and Budokan is immortal, but this one was IMHO the height of Cheap Trick- in the groove, creative, rocking, Nielson right in his songwriting prime- Robins vocals in their prime- this is it for me- 35 year CT fan- this one still bubbles to the top- and these songs live? forget it- nothing better. So glad they are in the RR hall- what a rock band
  • Like this cheap trick album, very solid ! !

Surprised there are no reviews for this and there All Shook Up album, 2 very good rock and roll ALBUMS. The title track, of course surrender, on top of the world and california man are all great tunes. All in all, a must have for any cheap trick fan.
